Sexting? one of most dangerous issues of virtual world. Sexting is sending, receiving, or forwarding photo/ images, sexually explicit messages, by personal phone, computer of digital devices. Sexting could result in charges of distributing or possessing pornography, bullying, harassment, and humiliation.
We all think Sexting is only issues in teen but, close talk on this issues I found Sexting now is not only in teens but all age group of people. In virtual world sexting is spread as air poison. Sexting between in love relationship is common but even your partner is not ready for it is abusing him/her. Then think sending to people how big crime it is?
All of us, somehow, we all become victim of sexting. Many time I become victim of sexting. The time was I was new baby to social media. One of my brother’s friend who was on the list of my friend on my account.
- He messaged me sister! How are you?
- I am good brother. What about you?
And what he send me nude pictures. I got shocked and as fast as I blocked him. I decided to tell this incident to my brother but I was scared to share and shut my mouth. Again may be a year before I got message one of my very good friend. He firstly messaged causally. At that time he was newly married, so I asked him about married life; and he suddenly send me nude pictures. My mind “what the hell!! what’s going on? I texted him if you do it again I will complain it to police and blocked him from my account. As my story we all have been victim of sexting. I did mistake that I didn’t complain it.
If you become victim of Sexting-
- Don’t wait to take action.
- Don’t try to talk back at the person who shared it. It may be risk to you.
- You can speak to a family, teacher, counselor. It’s important to tell them what’s happening.
- lock people who are harassing you, and the people who forwarded the photo/video, on your social medial accounts. Don’t respond to mean and hurtful comments.
- If the sexting was shared on a website, contact the website right away and explain the situation. They may be able to remove the photo/video .
